The Happiest Place on Earth

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for SUM Booth. With the NHL Draft and SHRM10 behind us, it was time to set our sights on one of the biggest events of the year — MLB FanFest!
One of our specialized services are trading cards, so the world’s largest baseball festival and customized baseball cards go hand in hand. But this is no standard endeavor — it’s on a grand scale. We’re talking 5 photo stations running non-stop for 53 hours, ushering thousands of baseball fans through the lines at a rapid pace with the help of a staff of incredible volunteers. Due to the size and scope of the event, we also teamed up with our old cohorts at Wang Industries, who provides a wealth of experience in the field.
At the photo stations, fans got to choose to be outfitted with the jersey of their favorite team, or an All-Star jersey, and then after taking a photo while posing with a bat or a glove, their card is handed to them right there on the spot within minutes. With four different randomized stat lines, fans of all ages had just as much fun seeing which one of them had more home runs or stolen bases as they did comparing who had the cooler pose.
One of the great aspects of what we do is the concept of instant gratification. Not only do guests get a personalized keepsake in their hands to take home and enjoy, but we also get to experience the reactions when they first see their very own baseball card. Whether its a younger child holding it up with both hands for their parents to see with a beaming smile on their face, or a group of adults trying their best to downplay the giddiness they are experiencing while showing their friends their card, that instant feedback is a rare commodity within any industry. And it’s a huge part of driving us to keep doing what we do, delivering memories and smiles one photo at a time.
